TACNY John Edson Sweet Lecture Series – Tour Of The Rock Cut Road Waste-To-Energy Facility

Tuesday, 10 May 2016, 4:00 – 6:00 p.m.

Tour begins at 4pm (note this is not the same time as typical Sweet Lectures). Please RSVP by mailing sweet.lecture@tacny.org. Thank you.

The local Waste-to-Energy Facility, just off of Route I-481 in Jamesville, is a key component of OCRRA’s solid waste management system. This Facility processes all of the community’s non-recyclable trash, while also:

* generating enough electricity for 25,000 – 30,000 households

* reducing the volume of material that needs to be landfilled by 90%.

We will walk through the facility and see the various aspects of the waste to energy process.
